My go to travel camera set-up for many years now has been my Nikon D810 with a Nikon 24-120 f4 zoom lens. Big, kinda heavy, yes but I could carry it and my Mamiya 6 all day without an issue.
Well, introduced yesterday, the Sony A7r III and the long wished for Sony G 24-105 f4 zoom lens look like the perfect replacement; the combo I’ve been waiting for. I don’t need the few extra pixels over the D810 but the improved electronic viewfinder, dual card slots, better controls, and larger battery go a long way to remove my complaints about the A7r II. I am very tempted!
